About
MedLytic Labs score technology provides faster, more accurate and reliable techniques for diagnosis (calculating Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) index) and treating (with robust stent deployment) Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). We believe that our FFR2D product will be a paradigm shift and will set new standards in interventional cardiology, and it will become indispensable in the more than 6,000 interventional cath labs worldwide. At the core of our technology is both mathematical and numerical modelling. In the former mathematical formulas are used to compute pressure drop along the coronary arteries, while in the latter Computational fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools are used to compute pressure drop. Our innovative applications of mathematical modelling to simulate hypeaemia and of CFD to diagnose cardiovascular disease differentiate MedLytic Labs from existing technologies. MedLYTIC Labs will revolutionize treatment decisions for coronary artery disease (CAD). Our software provides a quick, non-invasive and wire-free calculation of Fraction Flow Reserve (FFR). We transform routine angiograms into objective vessel physiologic, along with anatomic insights, providing all information need to optimize percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) treatment decisions. medLYTIC Labs software aims to eventually replace wire-based FFR measurement and increase physiological coronary lesion assessment.
Solution & Product
X-ray angiography: We use X-ray a single angiographic image to evaluate the physiologic significance of coronary artery stenoses. We numerically compute the Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) index, without hyperemic stimulus (administering adenosine). How it works: Using a single 2D angiographic image, we apply an image analysis to segment the interrogated vessel. After vessel delineation, we compute geometrical data of the interrogated vessel such as vessel length, minimum lumen area (MLA), length of the stenosis, vessel volume, mean volumetric flow rate, coronary flow ratio (CFR) and using: •tthe geometrical data we compute the FFR flow reserve using well-established equations for pressure drop along the stenosis •tthe TIMI Frame Count (TFC) and the estimated (using only the geometrical data of the vessel) coronary flow ratio (CFR) we compute the Fractional Flow Reserve. Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA): We use the 3D reconstructed geometry of the interrogated vessel and we use only geometrical data to compute FFR. How it works: From the 3D geometry (often given as a STL file) of the interrogated vessel, we compute geometrical data such as the centerline, the volume, the length of the stenosis, minimum lumen area (MLA) and coronary flow ratio (CFR). We compute the FFR along the vessel using predefined volumetric flow rates (of 1mL/s and 3 mL/s) and simulating hyperemic flow conditions through a sophisticated mathematical and physiological model.
Innovation & Scalability
There is no other company in the world doing what we do - working with angiographic, CT and MRI data. We are passionate about transforming the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease and continue to innovate.
