Nearly all the used flowers and materials end up in trash.Organic matter sent to landfills and recyclables reduced to garbage.Floral waste comes second only to food waste, contributing negatively in global warming of the planet.Amounts of waste increases greenhouse gas emissions since microorganisms are created where they help produce gases such as methane.At the moment, there is no institution that collects and manages floral waste in Greece.Secret Garden is placed to offer a solution in this huge problem.We start by offering the first ecocleanup service.We organizing the collection and composting of our organic waste.We start by separating the waste into Reusable, paper and boxes are pulped and reused.Recyclable all plastics go to partners who recycle them or use them as raw material for new products.Compost, all the floral waste is collected and composted to create a new product Nutritious Soil Bags.We aim to minimise final nonrecyclable waste,with a vision of a sustainable world.

Our aim is the repurposing and upcycling of materials.We try to use recyclable paper packaging with no need to separate out the tape and stickers.Our aim is to create plastic-free bouquets.We expand the life cycle of our products and then we collect them again and add to our compost.SG now provides eco-cleanup services.After an event,the flowers that are still fresh are donated to non-profit organizations,while the ones that cannot be reused are collected,shredded to minimize the volume,before they are sent to the compost area.We cooperate with Benakeio Phytopathological Institute during this process,making sure our end product,Organic Soil,is rich in nutrients&minerals.Replaces or reduces the use of fertilizers resulting in savings energy and environmental protection.Reduces greenhouse gas emissions after composting microorganisms that promote aerobic decomposition,neutralizes unpleasant odors and eliminates the presence of various parasites due to the high temperatures that develop

Innovation & Scalability

SG is the only company to create an eco-clean up service for floral waste.We offer the first Organic Soil bag produced exclusively from floral waste.Environmental and cyclical economy values are our innovative approach.Firstly we try to use more recyclable paper packaging with no need to separate out the tape and stickers.Our aim is to create wrapped bouquets which are biodegradable&plastic-free.We try to source our raw material from the local market,through the Locality initiative,we reuse and recycle as much of our raw material including also charity in our business cycle.SG business model offers a unique competitive advantage as we already have access to major international brands and events HERMES,Katratzou etc.SG using new technological innovative sustainable business model.Taking advantage of the latest technologies,we are trying 5 different production procedures techniques of composting floral waste.We add manure in one of them and different minerals in other piles,we also have one that we allow nature to do its own magic.In few months the new substrate will contain many nutrients and will be ready for use in urban vegetable gardens.This is how we continue to achieve zero waste production & support sustainability.Through collaborations with research organizations,we have a strong RD background,that puts us in direct contact with new global innovations.We consider that this industry,will have rapid scalability.Initially we want to address other large markets in abroad.

We managed to collect our waste and reuse them producing a bag of premium nutritious soil.Our customer base is international&increasing rapidly.Our creations have featured in media like,VogueUK/Spain.We have collaborated with brands like Hermes & Katrantzou.Our turnoverin in 2022,succeed€520k.An eco-clean up milestone,is that we collected more than 16t of floral waste&we improved our composting process.New compost product,is nontoxic,rich in nutrients.It’s also replaces fertilizers,resulting in energy savings & esg factors.We are focused on establishing zero-waste profile so to reach out to companies that upgrading their CSR.Next month we will acquire an ISO 14001.We organize courses and we cooperate with research centers, sharing knowledge about production procedures.We want to participate at Research and Innovation programs of GGEK&HORIZON.In this way,we will achieve an important boost of our business proposition & will mark the way to become a global pioneer in the field

Team & Why Us

Secret Garden IKE offers its products and services at the shop in Psychiko but most of our business is B2B as we have a close network of partners (hotels, venues, event planners, shops) and our online shop and social media presence are very active. Up to now we have financed the research, collection and composting of our own and our partners floral waste. The eco clean up service we offer has added substantially to our budget. We have organized teams to clean up after events, we have invested in equipment, we are renting a compost area and we focus on the research and development of the process of composting and our end product, the organic soil bag. Our goal is to expand the network and strengthen our sales department. We want to export the composted soil abroad and access the wholesale market of soil. We plan to make famous our special product by participating in big venues in Europe as well as by investing in a new European (primarily) network of partners and wholesalers. The Composted Nutritious Soil Bag will be sold to our partners, flower producers in Greece and abroad and in exclusive outlets internationally. Finally, we are planning to take part in International Flower Shows and Expos as exhibitors, so to further expand our client bases and partnerships.
