About
3DLiftLens builds cutting-edge digital tools that turn an iPhone Pro into a millimetre-accurate 3D scanner for elevator shafts. Our SaaS app cuts survey time by 70 %, eliminates installation errors and delivers BIM-ready geometry straight to lift manufacturers and contractors. On the same platform, Lift Assist leverages generative Al to guide technicians step-by-step through troubleshooting and repairs, reducing downtime and boosting safety. With active pilot users in Greece, Germany and the UK-and strong month-over-month engagement-we are validating product-market fit." Our roadmap extends the core technology to adjacent building-trades-plumbers, electricians, window and kitchen installers, tilers and drywall crews-creating a unified 'smart tool-set' for every construction professional.
Solution & Product
3DLiftLens turns an iPhone Pro into a handheld 3D scanner for elevator shafts. A quick walk-through captures a full point cloud in about ten minutes—no costly laser scanners needed. Contractors save up to 60 % survey time, cut travel costs, shrink their carbon footprint and keep staff safely outside the shaft. Lift Assist is under development and will deliver AI-powered troubleshooting for electronic faults and parameter-setting on elevators. The user picks an issue type, types the manufacturer and asks via text or voice; generative AI searches uploaded manuals plus online sources and replies in the technician’s language. It currently works online; offline capability is planned. The roadmap extends to other electronics-heavy building trades such as HVAC and access-control, creating a specialised smart toolbox for field technicians.
Innovation & Scalability
3DLiftLens is protected by a national patent for its mobile 3D elevator-shaft surveying method using an iPhone Pro LiDAR. Our proprietary real-time point-cloud stitching algorithm validates scan quality and streams BIM-ready data to the cloud, replacing industrial 3D lasers that cost over €30 k. This slashes survey cost and time, cuts carbon emissions and keeps technicians safely outside the shaft. As pure-software SaaS distributed via the App Store, the product scales globally at near-zero marginal cost; the UI is already localised in five languages. Lift Assist currently operates as a stand-alone cloud AI tool for electronic fault-finding and parameter setting on elevators. Each query feeds an anonymised data lake, continuously improving model accuracy and creating powerful network effects. The modular backend means entering adjacent electronics-heavy trades—HVAC, access-control, etc.—requires mainly new documents and fine-tuning, not new hardware. High gross margins, tiered subscriptions and future OEM white-label deals give 3DLiftLens a clear path to global scale and multiple revenue streams.
Traction & achievements
110 active accounts (trial) from elevator-installation and maintenance crews in Greece, Germany and the UK. • 662 successful shaft scans completed with 3DLiftLens in the last six months, proving field reliability. • National patent No 20240100073 (5 Feb 2024) protects our mobile LiDAR-based scanning method. • Proof-of-concept interest expressed by a leading European elevator manufacturer and a major building-systems group; pilots now under evaluation. • Released app version 1.3 with BIM export and enhanced QC (Jun 2025). • Lift Assist is finishing closed beta; public launch in two months will unlock a second AI-driven revenue stream. These milestones demonstrate solid traction, protected IP and a clear path to scalable monetisation.
Team & Why Us
Tassos Akepsomaidis, founder & CEO, brings 30 + years of hands-on experience in the elevator industry. Having overseen hundreds of installations, he understands firsthand how costly measurement errors can be and envisioned a mobile tool that eliminates them. He is backed by an international developer squad (GR, DE, PL) with deep expertise in LiDAR/AR algorithms, iOS performance tuning and secure cloud pipelines. This unique blend of domain know-how and cutting-edge software talent creates a moat that is hard to replicate. Growth strategy: we lead with a freemium trial to drive rapid adoption, convert high-value users to paid subscriptions via in-app analytics, and build a reseller channel through elevator–maintenance firms. Next hires will focus on sales engineers and customer-success specialists to scale across EMEA. Once established, we will replicate the playbook in adjacent trades (HVAC, access-control) by leveraging the same backend and cross-selling into our installed base.
Funding Needs
To date, 3DLiftLens has been fully bootstrapped. To fast-track commercial rollout and finalise Lift Assist we are seeking €300 000 in pre-seed funding for an 18-month runway. Planned allocation: 50 % R&D (LiDAR algorithm v2, offline AI), 30 % go-to-market & reseller onboarding in GR/DE/UK, 20 % operations & IP protection. With an average subscription price of €25/month and a target of 500 paying users by Q2 2026, we project break-even in month 14 and an ARR of ~€150 k by period-end. Our high-margin SaaS model ensures sustainable growth; additional rounds will be considered only to accelerate entry into new trades or regions.
