About

DM is a technical company developing electromechanical installations, specialized instruments for non-invasive control, specialized solutions for measuring devices related to biomedical technology, the diagnosis and maintenance of cultural objects and the diagnosis and maintenance of constructions. The subject matter appears extensive but is actually the result of smart specialization based on systems development, wave propagation and signal processing. The study of the reflection of different types of radiation from multilayered structures is similar in the case of modeling the wall structures of building with the aim of calculating energy efficiency or in case of studying color & the infrared reflection from layered cultural heritage obj. or in the case of evaluating the reflection of various waves from multilayered cancerous skin structures. This has been proven in practice in the implementation of research activities that have led to innovative quality control services to industry.

Solution & Product

- Diagnosis multisystems using smart specialisation based on innovative actions - Incorporating engineering and a mobile infrastructure of multiscale and various waves based tomographic and photonics instruments for simulation and on field studies - Using an holistic in-situ non-invasive approach, - Developing spectroscopic mapping imaging - tomographic and remote sensing techniques and methods - Resulting to the documentation from one hand and the support of the optimal corresponding treatment from the other of the under study objects and cases: 1. optimal conservation of cultural heritage objects and monuments 2. optimal biomedical - clinical applications 3. optimal construction sensing 4. optimal electromechanical studies (energy efficiency, installations etc). like the following products: Spectracoustic ©, mammolearning ©, artbase ©, iTomography © , concrete healing

Innovation & Scalability

The approach of combined products and services supported by AI techniques in the processing and evaluation of the data that are produced from the various products (ie Spectracoustic ©, mammolearning ©, artbase ©, iTomography ©, concrete healing), is an innovative and competitive advantage. As far as the competition is concerned, the smart specialization of DM provides the team with the advantage of combining added value technologies form the various fields to the others and vice versa overpassing problems and solutions that the competitors appear to have. E.g. in the field of non destructive testing applied to constructions the competitors use microwave radars fr sensing the whole structure and eventually ultrasound tomographs. DM uses and develops these technologies, but enriches them with higher frequencies radars and ultrasounds (used in biomedical applications) resulting to the evaluation of even smaller defects which are crucial for the early detection problem in a bridge or building, saving indeed significant amount of budget for maintenance - conservation.

Traction & achievements

Implementation of innovative research and development projects (RTD) with continuous use of results: 1. In the framework of European projects, in the framework of FP6 up to HORIZON 20202, including InfrArtSonic, EU-ARTECH, CHARISMA, IPERION HS and Scan4Reco, the DM team developed systems and algorithms for non-destructive testing of archaeological objects, parts of which make up the portable her laboratory today involving non-destructive testing of works of art, constructions and also biological systems using reflectance spectroscopy in the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared region of the spectrum in the diffuse regime in combination with acoustic reflectance microscopy and extended to lower frequencies for plane tomography resolution of micrometers up to meters. 2. Among other, DM was also involved in the non-destructive diagnosis and documentation of artifacts from major excavations and artifacts in Europe and the Middle East.
