Most port funds or port organizations have only basic computerization/digitization. This fact, along with limited means for monitoring port operations, result in loss of income from activities like docking, parking, etc. Moreover, in islands where one organization manages several port zones, there is no unified picture for them. Such organizations are usually under-staffed and many operational problems occur (even minor, but with high frequency). Finally, security measures in smaller ports are insufficient. So there is an opportunity to facilitate port operations (inc. security) through a unified platforms and ICT tools: the OPSISNET PortSuite.

Solution & Product

OPSISNET PortSuite is an integrated but also modular port management platform that will be able to meet the needs of port organizations of all categories both at the level of central management and at the level of vertical specialized solutions, so that the organizations can achieve their strategic goals. It will provide a Common Operational Picture of all port activities and KPIs, including financial management and security. IoT infrastructure is at the core of the platform as well as state-of-the-art incident detection and handing tools. To put is simply, it could be considered as a Command and Control system for port authorities of all sizes.

Innovation & Scalability

The platform is a complete solution that can be installed in organizations without an digital services and platforms, but also in those with some subsystems that have not yet completed them in a unified system. Thus, the platform will be available in a modular and flexible way: each organization will acquire the central management platform and any subsystems it deems necessary for its operational needs. Existing subsystems, will interface with the platform (thanks to its open interoperability interfaces) so that there is no need to devalue past investments. The logic of integration and interoperability is a key axis of our strategy: as we have identified that there are not integrated competitive solutions, some of the current suppliers with their "vertical" offerings may gradually become our partners. At a technical level, we adopt the most modern standards for Internet of Things systems (LoRa, NB-IoT, MQTT) and latest generation sensors. Moreover, we adopt modern video analytics for early detection of security events or "abnormal/expected" behavior. We propose, integration of Complex Event Processing methods to identify spatio-temporally complex events and business intelligence methods to monitor and manage consumption, financial indicators and revenue. Security measures will be based on international best practices and ISPS code. Interoperability with third party systems will be achieved through standardized interfaces (eg ETSI NGSI-LD, CAP).

Traction & achievements

The company count less that 4 months of existence. In 2023 Q1 it got its first contracts for providing a core IoT platform in the Port fund of Santorini. Moreover, it has established MoUs and letters of intent/support with key organizations with customers in the domain such as: Infosupport SA, Zarifopoulos SA, ICTS Hellas Security Solutions, Lavrio Port Fund, Volos Port Fund. Some letters of support are attached. Moreover the company has submitted its business plan for evaluation in the Digital Transformation call of "Koinonia Tis Pliroforias"
