About

CargoShare connects ship operators and charterers by automating the cargo brokering procedure.

Solution & Product

The problem CargoShare solves is that of transparent and quick deal-making in maritime shipping. Maritime deal-making, and the process to find available cargo hold or available cargo, is currently done via long time partnerships and opaque procedures. Both ends of the market have limited knowledge of real time supply and demand. This results in inefficiencies that take their toll in the whole trade industry. SO OUR MISSION IS TO SOMPLIFY THE PROCEDURE AND REDUCE THE COST OF CHARTERING. CargoShare’s approach to solving this problem is by creating a real time marketplace where a ship’s available cargo can be bought or sold for specific routes. In CargoShare, both charterers and ship operators can propose or take deals, while all mandatory procedures for securing a deal are completed inside the platform, including the communication of the parties, storage of legal documents etc. CargoShare’s approach adds liquidity and security to the market and also creates opportunities by allowing charterers to combine cargo and strike better deals due to economies of scale.

Innovation & Scalability

Chartering is currently conducted via a large, compartmentalized network of intermediaries (i.e. brokers). This compartmentalization slows down market information flow and contributes to an opaque market. CargoShare’s chartering network centralizes market information by analyzing its customer’s requests in real-time, to provide insights and leads. AUTOMATING the strenuous job of analyzing market availability makes CargoShare faster and more reliable than its competitors. - Improving the platform with new technologies (Artificial intelligence) in order to offer better, faster options and services, by hiring experienced and capable developers. - Increasing our customers base (shipowners and cargo owners). By creating new offices in larger markets, we will have closer and better communication with them. Partially that has already started with the presence of representatives in USA and Balkans. - Extending the sales and marketing team. In order to approach new customers and to take part in shipping exhibitions. - Utilizing social media, articles, shipping news we can attract them and create snowball effect where big companies will attract the small one to participate in. -For better information and decision-making we will create and use both quality and quantitative data to apply to each customer separately. -Apart from dry bulk cargo, our goal is to enter the market of LPG and LNG cargo, which is a constantly growing market with great opportunities to increase our revenues
