About

ChainSpark is an Athens based company building ChainSpark Intelligence (CSI), an AI system that checks claims made about digital assets against observable evidence and produces records a regulated firm can defend. Under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA), a trading platform must assess whether a crypto asset is suitable before admitting it to trading, and must retain records of that assessment. In practice these assessments are performed manually, take days, sometimes weeks per asset, and produce files that are hard to reconstruct months later when a supervisor asks. The same gap exists outside the regulated perimeter, in industries like private markets, custodians, funds, market makers, etc. all decide whether to touch an asset, and none of them have a standard way to show why. CSI closes that gap. For each asset it gathers evidence from public and submitted sources, checks each claim against what can be observed on-chain and in public records, and produces a structured record showing what was checked, what each finding rests on, and what could not be verified. The company was established in October 2025 and operates from Nea Makri, Attica.

Solution & Product

CSI is built around one engine and delivered through several surfaces. An assessment engine runs a fixed set of checks on a digital asset using multiple data sources, covering contract behavior, ownership and supply control, holder concentration, issuer identity, documentation and more. Each finding carries its source and, where relevant, the MiCA article it relates to. A console for trading venues presents the resulting record, the gaps, and the recommendation, and records the human decision alongside it. CSI never lists or rejects an asset. The venue makes and owns the admission decision, which is what the regulation also requires. An issuer portal lets asset issuers submit documentation through a guided application and see which requirements they have not met before they approach a venue. A monitoring service re-checks assets on a schedule after listing and raises alerts when an observation crosses a threshold, for venues and for holders such as funds and market makers. An assessment report renders the complete record as a document suitable for internal files and supervisory requests.

Innovation & Scalability

Under MiCA, a trading platform must assess whether a crypto asset is suitable before admitting it, and must reconstruct that assessment for a supervisor years later. Venues do this by hand, and the file is hard to defend later. CSI assembles the evidence, checks each claim against what can be observed, and produces a record showing what was verified, what it rests on, and what could not be established. The venue still owns the decision, as the regulation requires, but makes it faster, cheaper, and on a file that holds up. The innovation is in what counts as evidence. Most screening reads what a contract declares at one moment, like, tax settings, mint permissions, ownership flags. That data is commodity, and cheap to arrange. CSI instead reconstructs, at request time from on-chain history, what a creator did with their own supply. Across 1,058 cases, legitimate creators had relinquished their allocation within weeks while fraudulent ones retained roughly a third. Documents can be fabricated; giving away real supply cannot be faked cheaply. Where evidence is insufficient, the system declines to score rather than inventing a number. Scalability follows the method, not the jurisdiction. The evidence layer is regulation agnostic; MiCA is one mapping over it. The same records serve other regimes, non-EU venues with the same liability but no obligation, and buyers such as custodians, funds and market makers. Tokenised real-world assets come next.

Traction & achievements

ChainSpark began as a Web3 consultancy, and that side of the business still produces the company's early revenue and funds its research. CSI came out of a problem the founder met from the inside, working in the listing department of a global exchange, where every token admission was assessed by hand or by a third party across a dozen of sources and the resulting file was almost impossible to reconstruct months later. What followed was closer to a year of research than of product work. The team assembled a corpus of documented fraud cases, catalogued the behavioral indicators described in the academic literature, and tested which of them can actually be measured before a listing decision rather than only explained after a collapse. That work produced the finding CSI is built on. The platform is now largely built and under regular testing and validation, comprising a backend service, an exchange console, an issuer portal and an assessment layer, with a code-verified technical whitepaper documenting both the architecture and its limits. On the regulatory side, the Bank of Greece FinTech Innovation Hub confirmed that CSI does not require CASP authorization, and a formal supervisory dialogue is registered with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. The company was accepted here into the Elevate Greece startup registry and there are also plenty open discussions with leading and mid-tier exchanges on pilots and design partner agreements.

Team & Why Us

ChainSpark began as a Web3 consultancy & dev firm, delivering blockchain and AI systems for clients across the globe, and that work continues alongside the product. CSI came out of a problem the founder met from inside the industry, working in the listing department of an international exchange, where every token admission was assessed by hand and the resulting file could not be reconstructed months later. The team turned from client work to building the answer, and spent close to a year on research before product, assembling a corpus of documented fraud cases, cataloguing the behavioral indicators described in the academic literature, and testing which of them can actually be measured before a listing decision rather than explained after a collapse. That research produced the finding CSI is built on, and the platform is in final development, tested and validated time by time. The team of five brings decades of combined experience across software engineering, high-load systems, enterprise infrastructure and Web3, including doctoral and postgraduate research in technical sciences and computer science. Its members have delivered systems for organizations including the White House, UNICEF, etc., built and sold an e-commerce business, and led frontend architecture for distributed international teams. Funding Needs

ChainSpark is currently raising €500,000 as a pre-seed round, sized to fund eighteen months of operation and to reach the point where CSI is sold to regulated institutions rather than piloted with them. The largest share funds the team of five who build and sell the product. A significant share funds the requirements that come with selling to supervised financial firms, like security certification and independent testing, professional and cyber cover, the corporate and intellectual property work that accompanies the company's growth, and legal counsel on the obligations that apply to a supplier of regulated entities. The remainder funds infrastructure and the data the platform draws on, sales and marketing across European markets including conferences and direct outreach to compliance teams, and an independently adjudicated case corpus that will let ChainSpark publish a measured error rate for its own findings, which no competitor in this market currently does.
