Novel technologies, systems and business models in the area of advanced connected and automated vehicles are emerging; DEEPTRAFFIC identifies a market gap between existing traffic management practices and new technological tools, aiming to act as a catalyst by providing an integrated solution to achieve smart and dynamic traffic management for connected and automated vehicles.

The solution offered by DEEPTRAFFIC is innovative in 3 aspects: •Technological innovation: it employs emerging technologies such as C-ITS and machine learning techniques to achieve the desired approach of holistic traffic management •Operational innovation: it caters for multiple data sources and addresses connected vehicles, becoming an intermediary decision-making tool, bridging conventional traffic management and traffic information service provision •Business model innovation: it addresses multi-actor perspectives and supports the new Traffic Management as a Service model The solution offered by DEEPTRAFFIC aims to provide the traffic management sector with added-value features for holistic dynamic traffic management processes and delivery of quality services to connected vehicles. The provision of such a novel service would significantly contribute to increased traffic efficiency, reduced road accidents and emissions and a major overall mobility improvement, bridging at the same time the gap between the various existing fragmented solutions and services.

Traction & achievements

Taking into account that DEEPTRAFFIC is currently at pre-revenue stage, market traction can be demonstrated by means of evident interest from stakeholders. DEEPTARFFIC team members are in close contact with potential customers, exploiting their year-long engagement in related national and EU R&D initiatives. Early conversations had a very positive outcome, which led to demonstrating the product to public authorities and road operators both in Greece and in Europe, with commercial interest already expressed. This is considered as a strong evidence of product-market fit. Such examples include potential customers from Greece (Cities of Thessaloniki, Trikala and Ioannina and Attica Tollways) and Europe (Cities and Traffic management operators from Spain, France, Denmark, UK and the Netherlands), showing a clearly positive sign that the product resonates with the traffic management market and has a potential for significant and continuous customer base growth.

The DEEPTRAFFIC team is comprised of a set of highly experienced, globally acknowledged and skilled individuals, with strong backgrounds in the domain of mobility and traffic management, who are at the same time enthusiastic, motivated, and forward looking. The team members, having been working for more than 5 years already, cover both managerial and technical capacities. Through the skills and collaborative work, the entire team is able to deeply understand and fully address the challenges faced by stakeholders of the traffic management sector, providing them with the appropriate products and guidance.
