Founded by researchers with experience at leading institutions such as the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), the team brings deep scientific knowledge in air pollution, secondary aerosol formation, and health-related air-quality metrics, translating complex research into practical, scalable solutions. What differentiates EmAIRging is not only technical competence, but the ability to bridge science and real-world implementation — integrating sensor technology, data analytics, and ESG-oriented strategy into actionable systems for buildings, industries, and municipalities. The founders: Prof. Spyros Pandis, is Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras and Scientific Director of the LAQS laboratory at FORTH. Dr. Georgios Fouskas, is Head of the ICT Center at FORTH/ICE-HT. Maria Georgopoulou, Environmental Engineer (MEng, MSc, PhD.c), Doctoral Researcher at FORTH/ICE-HT. Funding Needs

EmAIRging is currently seeking funding to accelerate the commercial scale-up of its ENSENSIA monitoring ecosystem and SmartAQ+ predictive platform. The investment will support hardware production scaling, cloud infrastructure enhancement, certification and compliance processes, and targeted market expansion across Greece and the EU. Additional resources will be allocated to strengthening the data analytics layer, advancing AI-based forecasting capabilities, and expanding sales and strategic partnerships in the smart buildings, ESG, and industrial sectors. This funding will enable EmAIRging to transition from early market validation to structured growth, increasing deployment capacity, recurring SaaS revenues, and international competitiveness in the rapidly growing air-quality and environmental intelligence market.
