About
eyeRadar represents a paradigm shift in how we identify and treat dyslexia and learning disorders. Operating through Emmetropia Research Lab, we have developed a revolutionary healthtech platform that combines proprietary eye-tracking analysis algorithms, advanced artificial intelligence, and a growing network of healthcare professionals to transform what has traditionally been a subjective, time-consuming, and often traumatic process into an objective, rapid, and empowering experience for children and families. One in five children struggles with undiagnosed learning difficulties, a silent epidemic that cascades through their educational journey, affecting not just academic performance but self-esteem, social development, and future life opportunities. Traditional assessment methods, developed decades ago and largely unchanged, require multiple sessions spanning three or more hours, rely heavily on subjective interpretation, and offer no systematic way to track whether interventions are actually working. Perhaps most troublingly, less than 40% of affected children ever receive timely and accurate diagnosis, with many falling through the cracks of an overburdened and inefficient system.
Solution & Product
eyeRadar fundamentally reimagines the learning disability assessment process through the marriage of cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise. Our platform delivers rapid, objective screening that produces results in minutes rather than hours, achieving approximately 95% diagnostic accuracy through proprietary algorithms trained on over 4,000 clinical evaluations. But we don't stop at diagnosis – we provide continuous monitoring capabilities that allow therapists and families to track treatment progress with measurable, quantifiable metrics. Most importantly, our AI generates personalized intervention plans based on each child's specific pattern of weaknesses, moving beyond one-size-fits-all approaches to truly individualized care. The business model creates aligned incentives across all stakeholders. Healthcare providers pay a setup fee of €5,000 (structured as ten monthly installments of €500), which includes all necessary hardware, software, and training. For each assessment performed, we charge €100, with €60 going directly to the therapist or doctor and €40 to eyeRadar. This creates a win-win scenario where providers can offer a new, valuable service while generating additional revenue, and we maintain a sustainable, scalable business.
Innovation & Scalability
eyeRadar's innovation lies in its novel application of eye-tracking technology and AI for LD screening and treatment. This approach offers several advantages over traditional methods: Objectivity: Reduces human bias and errors in assessments through data-driven analysis of eye movement patterns during reading tasks. Speed: Provides rapid results in 15-20 minutes, enabling quicker intervention and eliminating the 3+ hour assessment burden. Accuracy: Achieves high accuracy rates (88-95%) across multiple studies, validated across different settings and languages. Adaptability: Can be used across different languages and age groups, with validated models for Greek and English, and coming collaborations for German, Spanish, and French. Scalability: Our dual-market approach addresses both institutional and individual needs: Institutional scale: Can be implemented across schools and educational systems for mass screening, enabling early identification before children fall behind. Individual scale: Offers personalized, at-home treatment through our comprehensive platform. The technology's adaptability to different languages enhances its scalability across markets and user groups. We will eventually be transitioning to a software-only, webcam-based solution that will eliminate hardware costs (reducing from €3,000 to €0 per provider), dramatically improving unit economics and enabling global scale without supply chain constraints.
Traction & achievements
Emmetropia has made significant strides in developing and validating eyeRadar: Clinical Validation: Conducted multiple studies across various versions of eyeRadar, demonstrating high accuracy rates (88-96%) Accumulated substantial database of eye-tracking data from over 4,000 participants Strategic Partnerships: Established collaborations with educational institutions and government bodies, including a project with the Ministry of Education in Cyprus Built network of healthcare providers and therapists using the platform across Greece and Cyprus Intellectual Property: Secured patents in the USA and Europe for the eye fixation parameter determination system and method Multiple peer-reviewed publications supporting the technology's effectiveness, including in PLOS One and IEEE conferences Product Development: Successfully created both screening version Developed user-friendly interfaces for therapists and children Building cloud-based infrastructure supporting rapid deployment Current Operations: Generated approximately €300,000 in cumulative revenue over six years while refining technology Active provider network conducting regular assessments Proven business model with clear path to profitability These achievements demonstrate eyeRadar's effectiveness, scientific validity, and growing recognition in the field of learning difficulty assessment and treatment.
