About
eThesis is a complete thesis-lifecycle and academia–industry collaboration platform. For universities, the eThesis App centralizes topic discovery, a shared “MyThesis” workspace, milestones, feedback, grading, and repository publishing—wrapped with role-based dashboards, KPIs, and auditability. It integrates research-integrity and productivity tools and can be deployed on-premises with SLA-backed support. Built on the same backbone, three Bridges extend eThesis beyond campus: • Hiring Bridge helps companies discover talent from participating institutions, post roles, and receive AI-assisted candidate matches with hiring analytics. • R&D Bridge structures university–company research with proposals, milestones, IP/contract workflows, and measurable outcomes—monitored across entities in one place. • Internship Bridge streamlines intern sourcing, agreements, onboarding, and progress tracking for employers and academic supervisors. By unifying students, supervisors, administrators, and industry partners, eThesis reduces administrative friction, strengthens supervision quality and academic integrity, and converts research work into employability, partnerships, and publishable output. The business model spans institutional subscriptions (with optional installation and support tiers) and B2B plans for the Bridges, enabling land-and-expand growth from departments to whole institutions and their partner networks.
Solution & Product
eThesis delivers a unified platform: the University eThesis App centralizes thesis topic discovery (similarity search), supervision in a shared MyThesis workspace with tasks, deadlines, chat/meetings, grading workflows, repository publishing, and research-integrity tools (Turnitin, Scopus, Mendeley). It adds role-based dashboards, reporting and auditability for administrators and faculty. On the same backbone, three Bridges connect academia and industry: 1) Hiring Bridge lets companies search university talent, post roles, and get AI-powered candidate recommendations with hiring analytics. 2) R&D Bridge enables firms and labs to propose/join co-research projects with structured milestones and oversight (monitored in eThesis). 3) Internship Bridge streamlines intern sourcing, agreements, and progress tracking—again monitored across entities in one place. Deployments can run on institution-managed infrastructure with SLA-backed support.
Innovation & Scalability
eThesis is innovative because it fuses the complete academic thesis workflow with three industry “Bridges” (Hiring, R&D, Internship) on one monitored backbone turning a university tool into an academia industry operating system. Technologically, we offer: AI-assisted topic discovery (document-similarity search), a shared MyThesis workspace with structured methodologies, deadlines and versioned artifacts, integrated research/ integrity tools (Turnitin, Google Meet), role-based dashboards, audit logs, and repository publishing. Built for on-premises deployments with SLA-backed support when required. Our Bridges extend this stack to businesses: Hiring Bridge layers AI candidate matching and hiring analytics, R&D Bridge structures university–company research with milestones, IP/contract workflows and KPI dashboards and Internship Bridge streamlines sourcing, agreements and progress. Each entity monitored in eThesis. This business-model innovation monetizes both sides: institutional subscriptions plus company plans (subscriptions and per-project fees). Unique value: • One platform from topic discovery to grading & publication, then into hiring/R&D/internships—no stitching of point tools. • Auditable, role-based oversight and analytics (admin dashboards, workload, status, KPIs). • Enterprise posture: on-prem option, clear IP ownership, confidentiality, and audit rights. • AI-driven matching (topics, candidates) tied to real research outputs, not just résumés.
Traction & achievements
eThesis has evolved from a university prototype into a validated EdTech platform with active pilots and a clear commercialization path. The platform has been developed, deployed, and tested in real academic environments (Greek universities) covering the full thesis lifecycle, from topic registration to grading and publication, integrated with Turnitin and other research tools. - Completed full development of eThesis University App - Institutional Pilots: Pilots successfully run with partner universities and received strong feedback and interest for full deployment (Next pilot in Leiden University in February of 2026). - Bridge Modules: Designed and prototyped the Hiring, R&D, and Internship Bridges for academia–industry collaboration. - Business Framework: Master Services Agreement, Order Form, and SLAs for scalable B2B delivery. - Recognition & Acceleration: Partnered with Egg, Ahedd, ΕΚΤ, EnvolveXL, OkThess, BCC, University of Peiraeus, University of Athens, Microsoft for Startups.
Team & Why Us
eThesis can scale across three vectors: 1. vertical expansion inside each university (from a single department to institution-wide users, plus optional custom modules and SLAs). 2. geographic rollout (Currently in Greece and Netherlands) via repeatable on-prem deployments and standard Order Forms/MSA. 3. multi-sided growth via Bridges (Hiring, R&D, Internship) that monetize companies and create network effects around students, supervisors, and employers—all monitored in one platform. Standardized licensing, clear SLAs, and named-user models make revenue predictable and upsell paths simple (more users, modules, support tiers). The R&D Bridge adds a subscription + commission stream tied to funded projects. Hiring and Internship Bridges add tiered B2B plans—broadening ARPU beyond academia and reducing seasonality. Operational scalability comes from repeatable deployments and role-based configuration, admin dashboards, and measurable KPIs. Acceptance testing and milestone playbooks compress time-to-value and reduce churn risk. Potential barriers: • Lengthy university procurement and data-protection reviews (mitigated by a robust on-prem MSA, audit rights, and no-subcontracting posture). • Integration or infrastructure readiness at clients (handled via prerequisites, acceptance criteria, and support SLAs). • Multi-stakeholder adoption (students, faculty, admins) slowing rollout (addressed with role-based onboarding and admin reporting).
Funding Needs
eThesis is raising €100,000 to accelerate growth and product readiness across three areas: Sales & Business Development (€45,000): add dedicated sales capacity, build a repeatable pipeline, and improve sales/procurement materials to convert demos into institutional contracts. Product Development (€40,000): strengthen core platform, improve onboarding/UX, and enhance stability/scalability and admin workflows needed for university-wide deployments. External Outreach (“Extrovert”) (€15,000): targeted events/conferences, partnerships, content/PR, and light paid campaigns to increase credibility, generate inbound leads, and expand distribution. This funding enables faster customer acquisition, smoother deployments, and predictable recurring revenue growth.
eThesis unifies thesis management and provides industry bridges (Hiring, R&D) for academia.
