About

EVOTROPIA Economic Architectures is a pioneer in natural capital valuation methods, Ambient Intelligence (AmbI) algorithms and ecological finance engineering with a diverse boutique of NatCap valorization solutions on Energy, Water, CSRMs, Regenerative Agriculture, Lifecycle Cost-Benefit Analysis and Wealth Funds design. Natural capital is the stock of all natural resources and their identified biophysical properties that can generated economic value with the proper technology. Today, we can identify many natural capital species; from fossil resources making numerous fuels and byproducts such as fertilizers and plastics, rare earths that are essential for data centers, water reserves for agriculture, oceans for fisheries and global climate stability, forests for carbon sequestration and ecosystem services, micro-organisms for soil health and genetic information of plants for advanced pharmaceuticals. Natural capital economic design and financial engineering are complex tasks, requiring an expert with scientific and business (#scibusiness) skills to understand the physical properties of each natural capital species and translate them into economic value. With proper technologies, even “wastes” such as CO2, biomass, plastics, metals and nuclear can become secondary materials to be reused and add up to natural capital stocks. Wastes are just resources with still unidentified economic value!

Solution & Product

EVOTROPIA develops REGENA, the first integrated digital Machine Learning (ML) tool with a F3 approach (Farm-toFork-to-Finance) for optimizing the whole value chain of carbon farming; from the atmospheric carbon removal and soil sequestration measurement and verification to the Ecosystem Services valuation and financial investment level. For the reliable and transparent certification, REGENA applies a 3-level cross-validation technique. For the quick certification, REGENA applies Machine Learning (ML) methods to accelerate the cross-validation process by 80% than standard certification (on field) techniques. For the selection of the optimal crop composition for maximizing carbon sequestration, REGENA utilizes a constantly growing database with several biogeological and hydro-climate data. For the monetization of carbon farming environmental benefits, REGENA incorporates Ecosystem Services (ESs) valuation from atmospheric carbon removals by an integration of the Common International Classification of Ecosystem Services (CICES) v5.1 (2018) and European Union Soil Observatory (EUSO) Soil Degradation Indicators (SDIs). For the EPR certification, REGENA is utilizing the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) as an established umbrella method in the EU for lifecycle impacts and benefits.

Innovation & Scalability

Technically, REGENA consists of three (3) major elements: (1) a Data Analyst for ensuring transparency of atmospheric carbon removals and respective generation of carbon credits; (2) an Expert Environmental Advisor based on Machine Learning (ML) for environmental cost-benefit assessment and optimization of ESs and (3) a Builder of tailored ecological finance tailored contracts for investment upscaling. In overall, REGENA introduces 6 main innovations: (1) Complex data and information on atmospheric carbon removal credits from carbon farmers, (2) Dynamic pricing algorithms via demand-supply digital books, (3) Customizable (by the carbon farmer) features, (4) Expert Environmental Advisor for environmental value chains’ consultation via ML optimization at a lifecycle level, (5) Tailored Eco-finance Contract Builders and (6) Compatibility with all existing financial platforms for user cross-overs. Tested farms in PRIMA-SIRAM project demonstrated an overall synergistic result where the pilot carbon farm’s income increased by 24% and the insurance costs from the use of resistant varieties dropped by 32%. Scalability of operations concerns the following pillars: - Increase and diversify our test areas from the Mediterranean to Northern Europe, in order to enrich our database and improve our ML/AI algorithms for higher EU-scale performance (April - December 2026) up to TRL-9. Receive investment from private investors and structure the derived IP values (January - December 2026).

Traction & achievements

REGENA is the first integrated ML/AI digital tool provides reliable and fast CRCF validations with a F3 approach to eligible farmers for participating in carbon removal markets, and financial institutions with the required information on carbon farmers by economic performance and environmental footprint profiles for investing in carbon farming with measurable impact on their Green Asset Ratio (GAR) and ESG criteria. REGENA has so far been tested in 2 pilot plots in Greece, 4 in the EU (Italy, Spain, Portugal) and 4 in Northern Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt) across the research project PRIMA-SIRAM (2022-2025). REGENA was officially launched in March 2025 and received its 1st prize in BEYOND 2025 Exhibition (April 2025). We presented REGENA in the Web Summit Vancouver (May) 2025. In September 2025, we added our two new pilots in Greece. So far, two scientific papers on the REGENA algorithm algorithm have been published: (a) https://www.mdpi.com/2077-0472/16/1/134; (b) https://www.mdpi.com/2073-445X/15/2/349.

Funding Needs

REGENA is offered as SaaS. It is currently at TRL-6 and has so far been tested in 10 pilot plots in various countries of the Mediterranean, such as Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt and is at the phase of enriching its multivariate database for refining its ML/AI algorithms for accelerating the whole carbon removal value chain process. Particularly, our results show that (1) carbon (or regenerative) farmers may achieve a better environmental lifecycle performance -including Scope 1, 2 and 3 assessments- between 17% (Egypt) to 26% (Italy). In addition, (2) carbon farming practices may reach ~80% of the productivity of conventional agricultural practices in terms of output; however they do not require long fallow periods, while (3) in terms of ESs value, conventional agriculture demonstrates the lowest performance with a value of only 5.52E-05 EUR for each gram of Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) / kg of soil, while No-Tillage Rye (NTR) methods demonstrated a value of 4.94E-04 EUR of SOC / kg of soil and No-Tillage Vetch (NTV) methods a value of 5.65E-04 EUR SOC / kg of soil. On these grounds, REGENA seeks funding of 735.792 EUR to reach TRL-9 and fully monetize the potential of Regenerative Carbon Farming, allocated as following: (a) 40% R&D, (b) 35% Marketing and Promotion, (3) 15% Legal and Admin, (4) 10% Equipment and Materials.
