About
GENOSOPHY®: Better health starts here! GENOSOPHY is the first spin-off of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), established in March 2023 by Assistant Professor Kalliopi Gkouskou and Professor Aristides G. Eliopoulos. In GENOSOPHY we have a strong commitment towards improving human health through the provision of a comprehensive range of predictive, preventive and personalized genomic services. GENOSOPHY catalyzes a conceptual and practical change in tackling the problem of diet-related diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease, by personalizing lifestyle according to each person's genetic make-up and specific needs.
Solution & Product
GENOSOPHY has developed an innovative machine learning algorithm and the most comprehensive genetic test for diet-related diseases worldwide that enable patients and citizens to harmonize their nutritional and lifestyle behaviors with their genetic make-up. By analyzing a small DNA sample, we can provide nutritional and lifestyle changes tailored to the unique genetic characteristics of each person. Compared to conventional dietary and lifestyle plans, GENOSOPHY® has demonstrated superior clinical efficacy for the management of obesity and type 2 diabetes that has been evaluated and published in international peer-reviewed journals. The GENOSOPHY algorithm was developed following extensive research at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and registered as "trade secret" of the University.
Innovation & Scalability
Genosophy® outperforms competitors by: 1)tgenerating evidence-based recommendations through our proprietary ML algorithm that UNIQUELY combines multiple genetic parameters relevant to diet-related disease predisposition and management; 2)tthe most comprehensive genetic test for diet-related diseases which supersedes that of our competitors’; 3)tproviding polygenic risk scores of susceptibility to diet-related pathologies; 4)tproviding a wealth of options for healthy life recommendations not currently available to dieticians and other health professionals. Our market analysis indicates that dieticians who have incorporated Genosophy® increased their business by ~28%; 5)tvalidated recommendations in a clinical setting. We aim for 8% share of the European nutrigenetics market projected to value €250million till 2024. Rigorous marketing is required, underpinned by appropriate funds.
Traction & achievements
We have significant traction and reached several inflection points. We have established the GENOSOPHY network comprising >200 doctors and dieticians across Greece as well as in Cyprus, Switzerland and Albania. Our clientele of healthcare professionals has more than doubled (x2.3) within the first 3 months of operation. Our analysis of customer satisfaction indicates that 89% of Genosophy® users would recommend us to friends & family. GENOSOPHY® received the NKUA Innovation Award in 2023 and the Dieline Packaging Gold Award.

Our funding needs addressing these requirements for growth are estimated at 500k over a period of 3 years with milestones.
