We produce and promote in the Greek and European markets the autonomous intelligent container farms "!-GRoWCubes", supported by a full range of services (cloud based-digital brain controller, cultivation protocols, seeds, nutrient solutions, big data analytics, training etc). The result is a guaranteed production of a standard prespecified biomass,through optimized precision agriculture, regardless of environmental/location conditions, in terms of full viability sustainability (90% water recycling and usage of PV panels for maximum energy supply contribution). We aim to build a sustainable and resilient technological ecosystem for the cultivation of staple foods, at urban, regional and islandic levels, in the context of ensuring healthy food provisioning and social well-being, under conditions of worsening climate change and impending resource scarcity.

Innovation & Scalability

We consider our startup as the epitome of innovation both in terms of technology and business. Business wise we are the closest approach to the contemporary trend for urban farming. Tech wise, #!-GRoWCubes# units operate as vivid factories, combining the advantages of vertical photobiotechnological hydroponics, as analyzed above, with three cutting-edge technologies: Digital twin technology / Cloud-based big data analytics technology /Digital cultivation protocol technology. Given the above core competencies (in house holistic engineering approach), we believe that within the next 4 years we will be able to build a network of about 4-5 main farmers in each of the 52 peripheries of Greece with around 4 units per farmer (this is the min number of units required for one farmer to be able to become occupied for about 8hrs/day). This local network of about 1.000units, will constitute both the critical mass and the proof of sale, that will allow us to expand via local presence, into the Northern European and Nordic countries where the demand for super-fresh pesticides free food is enormous, while the climatic conditions for their local supply are harsh. Our medium term goal is to expand into a multi-thousand units network in Europe before we can go further, thus becoming a significant ecosystem producing staple foods for the European markets. We have a clear path.

Traction & achievements

1/ We have produced and delivered 1 x unit of Generation-1 engineering technology-leafy greens edition. This unit has been our prototype upon which we have built all our Gen-2 engineering blueprints and software technology. 2/ This unit has now been moved to the Hellenic Army Academy to participate into an R&D project regarding dual usage technologies (Civil and Military). 3/We have stable versions for the Digital Twin technology and the Cloud Big Data Services technology 4/We have finalized our digital protocols for leafy greens / micro greens /herbs /edible flowers 5/ We are now finalizing our digital protocols for tomatoes /eggplants /peppers/cucumbers / berries/strawberries 6/We have produced and sold 2xGen-2 units-leafy green edition 7/We have produced and sold 2xGen-2 units-fruits edition 8/ We are now finalizing our Gen-2 engineering technology blueprints for the berries/strawberries edition and proceeding with the production of the respective prototype.

Team & Why Us

Our executive team comprises the below persons: George Afendoulis- Founder and CEO: Agronomist with a 35 years of experience as an executive sourcing officer for the Global Food Oil market for Unilever SA. Thanos Kefalas-Executive Founder: Civil Engineer with 20 years of experience as a business owner (CEO of Spirit Innovations SA and co-founder DDPit.com). George Dratzidis-Executive Founder: George has a 20 years of experience as a business owner (Co-CEO of Spirit Innovations SA and co-founder DDPit.com). Kostas Vassilatos-CTO: Kostas is an Electrical Engineer with a 28 years of experience in IT/automation systems/Quality assurance. Our units are digital and remotely managed (remote alerting, monitoring, controlling, planning) with the ultimate capacity of predictive analysis of data, Vs the desired goals of each crop for each distinct crop unit.We develop our own cultivation protocols through an extensive research program, in collaboration with Agricultural Universities in Greece, as well as cutting-edge research institutions. The protocols are designed based on the high nutritional value of the products produced, in combination with market trends. The protocols are then converted into digital recipes. Further we design and manufacture our units ourselves in ODM terms, thus offering a comprehensive, turnkey, digital hydroponic growing solution, tailored to the grower, in a way that no prior experience or knowledge is required.
