About

Negawatts Energy is a climate-tech company building the future of verified sustainability by transforming energy efficiency into a measurable, verifiable and monetizable asset. Negawatts Energy develops technology that enables organizations to quantify and verify energy savings and turn them into trusted digital assets. Its integrated platform, the Negawatts Network, combines internationally recognized measurement and verification frameworks with digital technologies to connect connect those generating efficiency improvements with organizations and markets seeking measurable climate and sustainability outcomes, unlocking unlock new revenue streams and sources of climate finance.

Solution & Product

The company addresses a fundamental challenge in the energy transition: although energy savings are one of the most cost-effective ways to reduce emissions and improve energy resilience, the value of avoided energy consumption remains difficult to measure, verify, standardize and monetize. Negawatts Energy’s solution, the Negawatts Network, is an integrated SaaS platform designed to automate the measurement, verification and monetization of energy savings. It combines data ingestion from several sources and dynamically calculate performance baselines, taking into account variables such as weather, occupancy and other operational conditions.

Innovation & Scalability

A key innovation is the tokenization of verified “negawatt-hours” into digital assets, enabling energy savings to become measurable and potentially tradeable. Smart contracts can automate transactions and payments, creating a more efficient infrastructure for the monetization of energy efficiency. The platform is designed to scale across multiple customer segments and geographies, including utilities, real estate, municipalities, governments and ESCOs. Its SaaS architecture allows marginal costs to decrease as transaction volumes grow, while network effects can strengthen the platform as more verified projects contribute to greater data standardization and attract additional participants. Expansion can be supported through direct enterprise sales, partnerships with ESCOs and consultants, and integrations with carbon registries, ESG platforms and other energy-technology providers. This combination of proprietary technology, ecosystem partnerships and marketplace dynamics provides a scalable foundation for international growth.

Traction & achievements

Registered "Negawatts Energy" as a protected word mark with the European’s Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), trademark #019164959. Made our first AI-powered baseline engine calculations adjusting performance baselines, and opened discussions for early adoption with a utility company, a mide-sized municipality and an ESCO.
