The company has a primary focus on providing innovative engineering products for hotel automation projects, catering to system integrators, manufacturers, project managers, developers, and hotel operators. OWL Automata's solution revolves around the introduction of Hotel as a Service (HaaS) products designed to provide the necessary competence and tools for System Integrators and engineers to streamline the design and commissioning of hotel automation projects. Chameleon HaaS is a pioneering no-code complete (guest room automation and central visualization) advanced hotel automation solution for hotel units ranging from 1 to 90 rooms, allowing an easy and intuitive room design. Programming Instructions are automatically generated, while the visualization is also generated automatically, through Robotic Process Automation. Requires basic computer literacy. Chameleon+ is a low-code (guest room automation) advanced hotel automation solution for hotel units with no restriction on guest room applications and hotel size. Programming Instructions are again automatically generated. Requires minimum KNX experience. A custom AI chatbot is available for 24/7 technical support of both systems

Our system overcomes these challenges by providing a user-friendly interface and streamlined processes that significantly reduce setup time and operational overhead. - Simplified Design/Configuration: The configuration process is remarkably straightforward, in a highly intuitive environment allowing non-expert users to quickly design and implement complex automation systems without extensive training. - Guided/Automated Programming: Our system features automatically generated programming instructions that ensure all devices and components are correctly set up and fully operational in minimal time for the GRMS part and a full visualization solution that is auto generated without human intervention. The result is accelerated deployment & operational efficiency, while delivering cost savings and improved user satisfaction.

Traction & achievements

On the 1st of July 2024, a contact (2 years with option to extend 1 year) for the commercial distribution of Chameleon was signed with Kafkas SA, naming Kafkas as an exclusive Strategic Commercial partner for Greece. Kafkas SA is the market leader in distribution of electrical equipment in Greece (>300 m € turnover for 2023)

Team & Why Us

The company was founded by former ABB employees who were responsible for KNX building automation sales and management in the Greek and Cypriot market, with 20 years of combined experience in KNX and 15 in hospitality applications, with a total of 30.000 hotel rooms delivered in a span of ten years. During our tenure, we supported and expanded the markets of Greece and Cyprus, provided consulting services to local ABB sales units around the world. Nikolaos Spanidis is a graduate of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and has worked for six years in ABB Greece where he held various positions from KNX Sales Engineer to KNX Product manager, responsible for building automation in Greece and Cyprus. Nektarios Vryonis is a graduate of ATEI Patras and Northumbria University (UK), holds an MSc degree from Newcastle University (UK) and has worked for sixteen years in ABB Greece where he held various positions from LV and Automation Sales Engineer to KNX Product manager, responsible for building automation in Greece and Cyprus. Spyridon Antonopoulos is a graduate of the University of Piraeus with extensive work experience, who complements the team of engineers/technicians with financial expertise and actively drives the growth and expansion of the business.

Funding Needs

We are seeking an investment of 200,000 € to fuel our growth and expansion plans. This capital injection will primarily be utilized to scale our marketing efforts, expand our product line, strengthen our research and development capabilities, and to enhance hardware infrastructure. Top priority is adding 2 dedicated AI software engineers to accelerate development of new solutions (Sphinx)
