Quantum Optima is a Greek deep-tech startup developing AI- and quantum-enhanced optimisation software for battery energy storage systems and flexible energy portfolios. We help asset owners, operators and aggregators improve revenues, reduce imbalance exposure and make better market decisions.

Solution & Product

Our platform ingests market, asset and operational data and converts them into optimised bidding and dispatch decisions for BESS portfolios. It supports day-ahead, intraday, balancing and reserve markets, combining classical optimisation, AI analytics and quantum-ready methods.

Innovation & Scalability

Quantum Optima is BESS-native and multi-market by design. Unlike black-box trading services or generic energy software, it provides explainable optimisation logic and portfolio-level coordination. As a software platform, it can scale across assets, markets and geographies with limited marginal cost.

Traction & achievements

Quantum Optima has developed a working BESS optimiser and storage revenue optimisation platform, validated on real 2025 market data and a 20+ Greek BESS portfolio. We operate Q Energy Intelligence, an in-house data layer with 150+ live curves refreshed every 10 minutes. Our stack includes classical optimisation, IBM/D-Wave quantum development, lender-grade assessment tools, THEA incubation, GreenSyn Accelerator participation and dual-use Aegis™ decision-support upside and has been selected to attend NATO STO IST-SET-226 on quantum technologies.

Team & Why Us

Quantum Optima combines practical execution, energy-market knowledge and deep optimisation capability. Nikos Douros leads strategy, product and go-to-market, with engineering, MBA and senior business experience. Epameinondas Douros leads quantum and hybrid-solver development, while David Prasinos leads the classical optimiser and large-scale MILP/QUBO integration. Danae Spentzou leads market curves and scenario modelling, supported by regulatory and commercial advisors with RES/BESS experience. Our advantage is the combination of a working BESS optimiser, live market intelligence infrastructure, bankability tools and a quantum/deep-tech roadmap.

Funding Needs

Quantum Optima is seeking funding to move from validated technology to contracted commercial deployment. Funding will support product hardening, cloud/data infrastructure, additional engineering and commercial talent, live market and asset-data integrations, paid pilots with BESS owners and aggregators, and further validation of our quantum-enhanced and dual-use decision-support modules. The objective is to convert pilots into recurring SaaS revenue and scale across Greece and selected European electricity markets.
