Reneurocell Therapeutics (RNC), established on September 2024, is a spin-off company of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) and the University of Crete. RNC focuses on developing advanced cell therapies and medical devices by integrating precisely engineered biomaterials, potent stem cell technologies and compounds.

Reneurocell Therapeutics currently focuses on the development of safe and effective treatments for spinal cord injury based on stem cells and biologically active biomaterials. We provide effective means to precisely deliver potent human stem cells and turn them into effective treatments by supporting their survival and functional integration.

Innovation & Scalability

We offer unique biofabrication capacity that goes beyond the limits of 3D printing, including the ability to develop grafts and implantable devices based on a clinically proven biomaterial platform. While currently we focus on the development of treatments for spinal cord injury (SCI), our expertise can be utilized to develop various types of implantable devices, medical devices and treatment delivery platforms for a variety of human diseases.

Traction & achievements

Our spinal cord injury (SCI) treatments are based on published research conducted in mouse SCI models. Apart from SCI, we have utilized our grafts for targeted delivery of therapeutic compounds in other CNS injury models. We are in negotiations with cell therapy companies interested in exploiting our technology to develop novel SCI treatments or other advanced therapies. Finally, world-class medical rehabilitation institutions have expressed their interested to test our technology in human SCI patients once this can be permitted by regulating agencies.

Team & Why Us

Our scientific team has been working for >10 years on the development of effective treatments for CNS injuries or novel compounds for neurodegenerative disorders. We combine interdisciplinary scientific expertise (drug discovery, neuropharmacology, biomaterials, biofabrication, stem cells, animal models, bioengineering, devices) and background in life science innovation required to design, build and test novel cell therapies that can address unmet medical needs.
