About

Rhoé is a mobility innovation consultancy based in Thessaloniki, dedicated to bringing mobility discoveries to the market. It combines social sciences, engineering, and scientific research to develop and implement forward-thinking mobility solutions. With expertise in concept development, pilot testing, and real-world deployment, Rhoé supports public and private stakeholders in advancing sustainable and user-centered transport systems.

Solution & Product

Rhoé delivers a dynamic suite of products that tackle key challenges in sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, and smart infrastructure. Each solution is rooted in research, co-creation, and real-world application. More specifically our signature products are: - Ener.gy – an IoT-based energy management platform for ports, offering real-time monitoring, emissions tracking, predictive maintenance, and trend analysis to improve sustainability and cost control - Intelli.ware – a smart warehouse management system that uses real-time data and predictive insights to optimize storage space, minimize inefficiencies, and reduce operating costs - inBoard – a city intelligence platform that merges environmental sensor data (e.g., air quality, traffic, noise) with citizen feedback to help municipalities plan smarter, more resilient infrastructure and services

Innovation & Scalability

Rhoé makes the adoption of more sustainable solutions profitable. It also makes developing sustainable products easier, faster, and more cost-effective, as it is an expert at converting sustainable transportation solutions into financially sustainable ones as well. This is precisely the difficulty we face in this era of green transition: making the adoption of sustainable solutions profitable (since the environmental factor on its own it is not enough for businesses and governments to attempt the transition). Rhoé does that by integrating in-depth transportation and energy knowledge with bleeding-edge IT technologies. It uses optimization metrics and algorithms, trained on real-world data, that facilitate the transition to greener forms of energy by catalyzing crucial barriers that so far exist. The decarbonization of the transport sector is essential, as it contributes to almost a quarter of Europe’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Europe prioritizing the green transition, has established the Green Deal, a roadmap to transform the EU into a net-zero emissions economy and achieve climate neutrality by 2050. In this context, several decarbonization pathways have been proposed and a variety of renewable energy projects are being developed.

Traction & achievements

Rhoé began as a sustainable mobility research team on December 17, 2016, founded by civil engineering students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Within its first year, the team transitioned from academic research to bringing its innovative ideas to the market. Over the next seven years, Rhoé evolved into a leading mobility innovation consultancy, recognized for both groundbreaking products and strategic business acumen. Key milestones include being named twice among the top 32 ICT startups in Greece by the Ministry of Digital Policy (2018 & 2019), and listed among the top 15 startups in the smart cities sector by the Hellenic Institute of Transport (2019). Rhoé has participated in the Thessaloniki International Fair (2018, 2019, 2021 & 2022), and joined key national and European innovation networks such as the “Green Mind” project (2020), the National Register of Start-ups “Elevate Greece” (2021), Interferry (2021), ΣΕΚΕΕ-HAMAC (2021), SEV (2022), Waterborne TP (2022), and ERTICO–ITS Europe (2022). The team also earned 1st place in Greece at the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards (2022), as well as top honors in two Urban Tech Challenges. In 2023, Rhoé was proudly included in the Forbes Greece 30 Under 30 list.
