About
Simeron Technologies I.K.E. is an Athens based startup automating Greek accounting end to end, for both sides of the same problem. In Greece a business owner hands documents to an accountant and waits. The owner does not know what they owe until someone tells them, cannot verify that the number is right, and errors surface months later as penalties. The accountant, meanwhile, keys thousands of invoices into a chart of accounts by hand. Simeron was born out of exactly that failure: a freelancer handed a wrong settlement figure, with no explanation and no apology. We ship two products on one engine. For accounting offices, a document to journal entry pipeline: invoices arrive from e-mail, myDATA, upload or scan, are read by OCR, and every line is classified to an EGLS chart of accounts entry by our own fine tuned Greek model, then exported straight into the office's ERP. It is live today with paying accounting offices on its own platform. For business owners, a control panel that connects AADE myDATA, PSD2 bank feeds and documents into one live picture: money in and out, real balance, operating profit, and the exact obligations coming due, that is the VAT (FPA) draft, EFKA by class and income tax, each explained with the law behind it, plus a Greek legal assistant that answers with citations. Every business in Greece already reports to myDATA. Simeron turns that obligation into the owner's own financial control panel.
Solution & Product
Two products, one engine: ingest, enrich, reconcile, compute, display. Accounting Offices. Documents arrive from Gmail, AADE myDATA, upload or scan, are normalised into one model and de-duplicated by canonical invoice identity. Our Machine Learning does the OCR plus LLM extraction pull the header and line items. Our own fine tuned Greek classifier then assigns every line an EGLS and ELP general ledger account, and our engine rules fill the VAT treatment, reverse charge, deductible rates, withholding and fixed asset flags. The accountant reviews and corrects in a purpose built editor, the system learns from each correction, bank statements are reconciled against the books, and journal entries export straight into the office ERP, Epsilon first. Business owners. The same ingestion, aimed at the owner rather than the bookkeeper. It adds read only PSD2 bank feeds under explicit consent, a matching engine scoring bank movements against invoices with subset sum for many to one payments, fee solving, partial payments and cross currency corridors, and a three way reconciliation of bank against documents against myDATA with a completeness score and missing document detection. A tested Greek tax engine then produces the VAT draft per filing rhythm, exact EFKA by class, income tax, penalties and payroll. Delivered on web, iOS, Android and desktop, in Greek and English.
Innovation & Scalability
Greek accounting software digitises paperwork. Simeron replaces it with the state's own data and our trained models, then does the arithmetic in the open. Four parts are hard, and they are our core. 1. A proprietary Greek GL classifier. We trained our own model to map free text invoice lines to the Greek chart of accounts (EGLS and ELP), on a labelled corpus of a few million Greek accounting records built in house. Every accountant correction feeds a learning loop, so it improves per office. 2. A Greek tax engine as executable law. Rates, brackets, EFKA classes, deadlines and exemptions live as verified, year stamped, source cited constants, so the engine re-runs for any year and every figure traces to a law. 3. Three way reconciliation on messy Greek reality: bank text, myDATA and PDF invoices never agree. Our matcher handles split and combined payments, fees, foreign currency and duplicate identities across four ingestion routes. 4. A Greek legal AI engine over 15 million indexed chunks of primary law, fed by a daily FEK and AADE harvester. The marginal cost of a customer is an API call, and the engine is legislation shaped, not customer shaped, so one codebase serves a sole trader, an AE and an office with hundreds of clients. Only the tax layer is country specific, making it portable to any EU e-invoicing market.
Traction & achievements
The accounting office product is in production with paying offices, turning real client documents into ERP ready journal entries. The business owner product is also in production with more than 250 registered businesses. More than 500,000+ real invoices and documents processed in the last 30 days alone. Over 100 bank accounts connected over PSD2, covering more than 20 million euro of bank flow. Web dashboard, signed macOS and Windows desktop apps, native iOS and Android clients in release preparation, and a Greek legal assistant that answers with citations. Billing runs on Stripe in live mode with a 14 day, no card trial.
Team & Why Us
Simeron is built by two founders, with no outside investors and no agencies. Gregory Sarantinos, co-founder, owns the surfaces the customer touches, web dashboard, mobile and desktop clients, design system and handles all the social promotion with thousands of followers. Costas Sarantinos, co-founder, is the technical lead. He designed and wrote the GL classifier and its training corpus, the tax engine, the ingestion pipeline, the reconciliation matcher and the legal system, and runs the production infrastructure. First, we live the problem. The product started from a founder's own experience of being handed a wrong tax figure by an accountant, with no explanation, and it is now used daily by accountants on the other side of that same desk. Second, the hard part here is not the software, it is the correctness. Anyone can build a dashboard. Very few will train a Greek GL classifier, read the FEK, encode EFKA classes to the cent and test the arithmetic hard enough to put a number in front of a taxpayer and stand behind it. We have done that, in production, on real client data.
Funding Needs
Simeron is bootstrapped and has taken no external funding. We are raising a pre-seed round to scale two products that are already live and already have paying customers. We are looking for 600,000 euro, for an 18 month runway, allocated roughly as follows: 1. Team (about 55 percent). Two to three engineers and one Greek tax and accounting specialist in house. 2. Go to market (about 25 percent). A dedicated sales motion into accounting offices, where each signed office brings dozens of businesses, plus paid acquisition and Greek content for the self serve business product at a scale we can currently only sample. 3. Compliance, infrastructure and IP (about 20 percent). Milestones this round buys: paid conversion of the current business trial base and a repeatable acquisition channel, a materially larger book of accounting offices, ERP coverage beyond Epsilon, and a validated entry into a second EU market with an e-invoicing mandate. We are equally interested in Greek and EU grant instruments and in strategic partners with distribution into Greek small business, such as banks, payment providers and accounting networks.
