About
Viridiance Insights is a spin-off company of the Technical University of Crete that enhances industrial sustainability through digital innovation. Viridiance Insights' mission is to support industries in their green transition by providing innovative digital solutions that enhance the sustainability and circularity of their supply chains. Viridiance envisions a world where industries operate with respect for the environment and society, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to achieve sustainable development.
Solution & Product
Viridian Insights drives the transformation of industrial value chains into circular models through cutting-edge digital solutions. It enables sustainable materials management by creating a digital representation of the production line, ensuring full traceability and performance evaluation. Our services are powered by two stand-alone, self-developed tools: the Process Simulation and Modeling (PSM) tool and the Sustainability Balanced Scorecard. The PSM creates the digital twin of the industrial chain, allowing for detailed simulation and optimisation. The Scorecard then assesses its performance through key sustainability and circularity KPIs focused on efficiency, traceability, and transparency. This integrated solution provides complete virtual oversight of operations. It identifies failures, highlights areas for improvement, optimises resource consumption (energy, water, materials), and allows for testing 'what-if' scenarios to boost competitiveness and overall performance.
Innovation & Scalability
Our spin-off company combines the expertise gained from scientific advancements in the field of research through European and nationally funded projects, with the development of a flexible business model. Instead of selling expensive software licences like many competitors in the market, we focus on providing a tailor-made service package based on the goals, needs, and perceptions of each industry/customer. This removes the high upfront costs and technical burdens or extra effort in training/upskilling from our clients. Our unique value proposition is this integrated, holistic solution that realises the "twin transition" in industrial companies. Viridiance Insights targets mainly, but not limited to, the Industry 4.0 market, which is growing at a 19.9% CAGR globally and is driven by strong policy boosts for industrial sustainability, both at national and European levels. Viridiance secures financial viability through participation in European and nationally funded research programmes, providing in parallel the necessary capital to improve, upgrade, and expand our service.
Traction & achievements
The most significant achievement is that our core technology/methodology developed, empowered, and expanded through HEU & H2020 projects, was prepared and became ready for commercial use. Viridiance is the first spin-off company of the Technical University of Crete, established under the new legislation (4864/2021 art. 51) The company is newly introduced to the business sector, since it was officially initiated in July 2025. However, during this narrow period of time, Viridiance, following the initial business and financial plan, secured its participation in over 8 European calls for proposals, where we have offered our expertise and tools, aiming to secure our first foundational financial support.
Team & Why Us
Viridiance Insights has a strong research and educational background, as a spin-off company of the Technical University of Crete, founded by the Associate Professor of the School of Production Engineering and Management (PEM) of the Technical University of Crete (TUC), Dr. George Arampatzis, principal investigator of the research group Indigo (https://indigo.tuc.gr/). Moreover, the Viridiance team includes the co-founder, Maria Aryblia, a lead researcher, Environmental Engineer, and PhD Candidate in the School of PEM of TUC. Viridiance is powered by the researchers of the Indigo group (https://indigo.tuc.gr/team/), involving also collaborators who bring their extensive experience in business development, technology transfer, and the private sector in general.
