Solution & Product

Our product provides both a resilient and cyber-secure drone and an ad-hoc IFF system for drones. Both capabilities are equally important for our customers. Currently, we are offering a completely custom-made built drone, which incorporates all of the security features. At a later stage, we plan to develop an add-on module, which can be used in already commercially available drones. Finally, we are planning to reach out to traditional military-grade drone manufacturers, in order to offer them, to incorporate our solution into their products. Therefore, we recognize three revenue streams, asset sale, usage fee (leasing), and finally licensing. Since there is no competition currently in the market in the view that no such solution is presented or offered, we expect a significant growth potential. Even when traditional drone manufacturers will start developing a similar product(s), we still expect continuing growth due to the fact that the drone market itself will rapidly grow (estimates are for a market value of $90 billion by 2030) and that we intend to build strong and trusted relationships with our stakeholders and partners. Nevertheless, we have identified that a disruption in the supply chain of microelectronics can affect our product line. We expect that careful planning and dispersing of our sources could mitigate such a disruption.

Innovation & Scalability

Today, drones (Class I/Group I) are extensively used both in commercial and military activities (as the recent battles in Ukraine have shown). While various companies have presented a number of anti-drone solutions, these solutions are enforced against friendly and enemy drones alike. Furthermore, there is no possibility to add an IFF device (which weighs a couple of kilos) to drones that have a take-off weight of hundreds of grams. In that view, our product creates an un-hackable drone which can ensure 100% mission execution. By doing that, we also introduce an ad-hoc procedure for an IFF system, in the view that friendly drones can still be operated even under harsh and intense cyber-attacks. That way the – already established – anti-drone systems are becoming even more effective. Our team is a combination of cyber-security experts and hackers that all have an extensive military backgrounds. Thus, they can understand the various challenges military systems must overcome and are better prepared to address them. Since there is no similar solution available, we present a unique and innovative product.

Traction & achievements

Since 2021 we are working on a project for the creation of an un-hackable drone (Class I/Group I). In the beginning, we conducted thorough academic research regarding the feasibility and plausibility of our idea. In that view, we participated (with another, similar product) in the 1st Defense Innovation Challenge organized by the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense, where we were selected in the top 30 proposals. Since 2022 we are working on the creation of our first fully-working prototype and for the development of our Minimal Viable Product (MVP). We had already participated in a number of conferences and seminars, with the most prominent one being the 1st Annual IAMD Conference (Chania, Crete), where we had established a number of collaborations with both the IAMD Center of Excellence and the NATO (NCIA).

Team & Why Us

Our team is comprised of 5 members. All members have an extensive military background in cyber-warfare offensive and defensive military operations, air-defence operations and planning, hold an M.Sc./Ph.D. in Cybersecurity/Neurosciences, together with a number of highly prestigious certifications (e.g., CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker). Our leader holds a PhD in neuroscience and has extensive knowledge in both research and concept development. Our Project Leader is an ex-member of the Hellenic Armed Forces, and holds an M.Sc. in Cybersecurity And the Protection of Critical Infrastructures, together with a number of cybersecurity-related certifications. Two of the team members are currently working for the Army, and both hold an M.Sc. in Cybersecurity (one is also pursuing a PhD in a relevant field). The last team member (also a military) holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and has profound and extensive knowledge in manufacturing, programming and concept development. Zonos Systems Single Member P.C. is a newly founded single-member private company based in Athens, Greece. Its primary role is to provide consulting services for various projects in two major areas, military science and cyber-security. It has cooperation with various highly skilled and result-driven active military servicemen and cyber-security professionals who hold relevant Master’s and PhDs together with numerous certificates/accreditations (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CASP, CompTIA Security+/Network+, SANS, etc.).

Funding Needs

Currently, we are working towards a self-funding model. Nevertheless, we are always open to discussing potential collaboration schemes.
